Thompson Centre Contender G2 .223 Rifle
Increasingly rare in the UK, this is a very nice Contender G2 is in .223 Rem, together with a spare .22LR barrel (see other page), so permitting shooting both out and indoors. For shooters with no previous experience of this rifle, this is a single shot rifle with a quick change barrel mechanism. The trigger guard opens the breech, similar to a shotgun and the hammer has a switch which allows you to shoot both rimfire and centre fire ammunition from one receiver.
Professionally restored by TVG, the rifle is in immaculate condition with a pristine barrel. The barrel is fitted with a scope rail and the muzzle is threaded for a 1/2x20 unf moderator (available upon request). Twist rate is 1 in 12 so permitting .223 bullet weights up to 55gr.
